Originally founded in 1995, we currently have grown to be the largest and most used hospice provider in the Permian Basin, which includes Odessa, Midland, Big Spring and Andrews. Our goals are to provide supportive care and relieve pain for people who no longer benefit from curative treatment. The typical hospice patient has a limited life expectancy, so we strive to help them live as fully and normally as possible.Family members play a key role in maintaining this sense of normality - they too are taught how to provide care and cope with illness and its effects.

Dr. Mclarey with Patient

Home Hospice is not a place; it is a compassionate, team approach to end-of-life care that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people facing serious illness. Our caring staff helps the patient to live and die in comfort and dignity, free from pain.

Even when medicine cannot provide a cure, it can offer comfort, care and assistance that can help maintain a better quality of life for the patient. Each of our hospice teams focus on this type of attention, otherwise called palliative care. The time to begin thinking about hospice care is before you reach a medical crisis. The sooner the hospice team begins, the greater the quality of life for the patient and their families. Then our Home Hospice team can begin preparing an individualized care plan for your loved one.

If you are walking with a loved one through the stages of serious illness, you don’t have to take the journey alone, or feel overburdened with responsibility and guilt. At Home Hospice of West Texas, we believe that a support network of caring, loving people can help each patient rest in comfort and peace of mind. Family members are supported and guided through the illness of their loved one as well. Our mission is that wherever Home Hospice care is provided, we embrace the whole person - mind, body and spirit. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, rest assured that Home Hospice of West Texas is here for you.

Out of the many questions that people have about hospice care, four specific ones seem to come up frequently -

Home Hospice West Texas

Some families choose us for the peace of mind, dignity and specialized care our inpatient hospice - the Hospice House - offers. The Hospice House is more like a home than an institutional facility. It may be used for patients who are actively dying, or for those with symptoms which can no longer be controlled at home. In many cases patients are able to return to their homes once symptoms are controlled. Children who require hospice care can find comfort in the dedicated pediatric room - the Magical Kingdom. The House may also be used for respite care. If you are new to the idea of hospice, please let us help you understand how you may benefit from our services.
